I always feel fat at school. Everyone around me is super skinny and then there I am all big. I feel really self conscious about my weight and middle school is the time to enjoy myself. What should I do?
Fatty
My Advice:
First thing is that you should never call yourself fat. Its just degrading and it will only make you feel worse about your weight. Ask your friends not to bring up the subject of your weight. Tell yourself that even though you might be heavier than other people at school that you are still a great person. Also if you really want to be skinny, stop complaining about being fat and go on a diet. Go out and exercise. Eat healthy foods. Tell your parents about your decision to lose weight and ask them to pay more attention to what they cook and buy. You can even get you whole family into the whole weight loss idea. People tend to lose more weight if they have people to lose weight with. They are more motivated. The first step to feeling better about your weight is accepting the way you look. It’s you and what really matters is what is on the inside. Something that can also work is put a picture of someone skinny from a magazine and put that on your refrigerator. That way whenever you go to get something to eat you look at that picture and think maybe I should choose something healthier. Also don’t weigh yourself everyday. Try once a week. If you weigh yourself everyday you don’t see as much change from day to day as you would see from week to week. If you don’t see very much weight loss you'll get less motivated. So go and lose weight but also accept yourself.
